Meet Harvey! What a handsome black Labrador Retriever, right?! Wrong! Harvey is a Labrador Retriever/Basset Hound mix! (The Rancho Cucamonga Animal Center conducted a DNA test.) This character made the shelter's euthanasia list, due to the fact that he'd been there for EIGHT MONTHS and the fact that the shelter is EXTREMELY overcrowded! Labs and Friends.org came to the rescue, though. If anyone is interested in this AWESOME guy, please let us know. Harvey loovvveeeesssss people and is reeaaallllllllyyyyy good with kids. He loves the companionship of submissive dogs, too, but we don't think that he'd do well in a home with a dominant dog. However, if you were to adopt him, that's NOT to say that you'd have to isolate him from dominant dogs and that you, therefore, wouldn't be able to take him out in public. Harvey just submits to submissive dogs, unlike he does dominant dogs. While at
the shelter, Harvey was even chosen to be one of very few dogs that got to participate in the shelter's playgroups, in which approximately twelve dogs played off leash in an enclosed yard two days a week, for three hours a day and he behaved really well. All in all, Harvey is a GREAT dog, whom deserves a GREAT home. Please, consider giving him that home.
